This workaround seems fine, but is outside of macrium. I have checked this thread in forum 29323 automatically start backup when USB drive attached. Backup starts automatically when USB disk is available. The System Scheduler needs only 4.9 MB of the RAM, Macrium Reflect needs 69 MB, AB 38 MB. User is warned if backup has not been done for some configurable time. Looking at the interface, however, there doesn't seem to be a straightforward way to just run a full backup right now. Macrium Reflect Free is the quickest Backup Software and is not slower than Macrium Reflect Pro.So it is better to have Macrium Reflect only in the RAM, when it runs. (Alternatively Right click an XML backup Definition file and select Schedule and go to Step 4. My second question: if a full backup is skipped, how do you tell Macrium to run a full backup? I have been depending on automatic updates for so long that I forgot the basics. That works just fine, but obviously a scheduled backup running automatically would be much preferred as. My first question is this: If a scheduled backup cannot be performed on the scheduled date, is the backup skipped? Or is it simply deferred until the next opportunity arises? If it is skipped, then I suppose the only solution is to run the backup manually. I probably didn't turn on my PC that day.
